Question about dreaming?

I had a dream and there was some random dude in it, ive never seen this guy before ever in my life and im wonderin when this happens would this certain person be a figurement of your imagination or just someone who would be part of yor future? ive always kinda wondered about this, thanks. and please no stupid answers if you're gonna be an idiot then dont't answer.
