If dogs "live in the moment" why are abused dogs, or dogs that have been abused in the past, fearful of...?
Cesear Milan is the only public personality I have ever heard that says that. Abused dogs can and will remember the abuse. It si important for people to not focus on the past abuse of the dog. Dogs pick up on our emotions/energy. This is why when we are sad, our dogs come over and try to comfort us. When dealing with an abused dog, forget the past and stay focused on the present. The positive energy we project will help the abused dog to move forward away from the memories of being abused. If you dwell on the past abuse, the dog will sense the negative energy you are projecting and not move forward with the rehabilitation.
