Gap/ Leap year after graduating high-school?

I am graduating high-school in june but i dont want to start college until next fall.. what i want is to spend from june to january taking photography classes and literature and things i enjoy, and then travel... anny ideasss, places or anything that could help me figure out a solid plan?... in the new yor new jersey areaaa pleasee
