Can your license still be suspended as a provisional if yor court date isnt until you turn 18?

Ok i got a speeding ticket and since I'm not eligible for traffic school, I'm fighting the ticket i was thinking of extending my court date in juvenile court a few weeks so that it is a few days after my eighteenth birthday, meaning my license will no longer be provisional and i will not be a juvenile. Will i still be made to be tried in juvenile court and will my license still be subject to suspension for one point on my license as it is while provisional? need lawyers help!! k thanks
